Victoria Beckham showcases her latest collection at Fashion Week – but is slammed for letting Harper, 8, mingle with stick thin ‘zombie’ models
VICTORIA Beckham has been slammed for allowing her daughter Harper, 8, to mingle with “zombie-like” models backstage at her latest fashion show.
The designer showcased her new collection to a star-studded crowd at London Fashion Week today, with models walking the runway in an array of flowing maxi dresses and sharp tailoring
Victoria described the collection as: “A new kind of sexy – no restrictions, not much skin on show but a sense of the body and the woman inside.”
The line featured a houndstooth trouser suit, a green blouse and brown skirt combo and a white floral frock with her signature printed all over it.
However, fans at home were more bothered with the models than the clothes, with many concerned that they were ‘too thin’, describing them as “zombies.”
Taking to Twitter one wrote: “Your models are so skinny.”
And agreeing a second added: “Not being funny them ‘models’ look like zombies.”
“They not eat” wrote one of her Instagram followers.
And Victoria also received flack for after sharing snaps of her eight-year-old daughter Harper posing with the models backstage, with fans concerned for the influence they might have.
Commenting on her Instagram post, one wrote: “Not a healthy body image for a young girl to be mixing with.”
A second agreed adding: “Probably not the healthiest environment for a young girl to be around.”
Victoria has in the past spoken out against skinny models, claiming she had decided against using some “terribly thin” girls to appear on her catwalks.
And in 2010, she pledged to follow the Beauty Is Health campaign created by the Council Of Fashion Designers of America and ban extremely thin models from her shows.
At the time, she said: “I had a casting last week and had some terribly thin girls come in, and it wouldn’t have worked.”
While a third wrote: “I think she needs a day surrounded by normal sized women.”
Fabulous Digital has contacted representatives of Victoria Beckham for a comment.
The 45-year-old designer presented her Spring/Summer 2020 collection to an A-list audience at London Fashion Week today.
The former Spice Girl looked like she had tears in her eyes as her hubby David Beckham and their children watched her latest show at London Fashion Week.
David ,44, was sat front row with daughter Harper on his knee and sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz by his side at the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
