A MODEL’S bizarre runway walk has sent internet users into fits of giggles, with people comparing him to everything from a stroppy teen to drunk clubgoer.
German model Leon Dame turned heads when he closed the Maison Margiela Spring 2020 show at Paris Fashion Week – including Anna Wintour’s.
The male model, 20, from Berlin, was dressed in white hot pants, a sailor-style leather jacket and platform boots.
Instead of just walking down the runway, Leon seemed to strut for all he was worth causing the audience in the room and online to react.
Even Vogue editor Anna Wintour couldn’t help but crack a smile as she watched him fiercely stomp past.
The 6ft1 model, who is a student and saxophonist, turned heads last season when he walked in Maison Margiela’s previous show thanks to his striking walk.
But it seemed to have impressed Creative Director John Galliano, who booked him once more.
Leon seems to be the talk of the town, with many people commenting on his style.
Tim Blanks, The Business of Fashion’s editor-at-large, said Leon “murdered the catwalk.”
He also shared a photo of the model and quoted the 42nd Street movie, saying: “You’re going out a youngster, but you’ve got to come back a star!”
People added on Twitter: “Leon Dame’s walk at Maison Margiela offers all the inspiration you need to stomp through hump day.”
One added that Leon looked like a “brash, baby giraffe” that was “leaving [a nightclub] at 7am on a Sunday morning.”
Another said: “My kid every day when it’s her bedtime”.
In 2016, Leon was listed as one of the New York Times’ eight male models to watch.
He’s so far walked for Hermès, Topman, J.W. Anderson, Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Jil Sander, Gucci, MSGM and Valentino.
