The lighting was so powerful it caused Alex’s heart to stop and socks and shoes to blow off.
After he was struck, a hole was also burned into concrete on the spot the lightning bolt struck.
INSTANT COLLAPSE
Clinic worker Christy Mittler, who rushed to his rescue, told local media the lightning zap came out of nowhere and she had to act quickly.
She said: “I started running through the hospital because someone was like, ‘We need help with CPR’.”
When she arrived, she saw that the victim was not breathing and his clothes appeared charred.
She added: “His shoes and his socks got blown off his feet.”
She and two others gave their best efforts in saving the man, and managed to successfully perform CPR until they could feel a pulse.
She said: “We rolled him over and we were sweeping out his stuff. We were knocking him on his back, telling him, ‘It’s okay. You got hit by lightning.'”

Officials said the man was walking his three dogs when it happened.
It’s believed the dogs ran away after their owner was struck, but deputies found them after searching a nearby wooded area.
Mr Coreas’ family told ABC13 he’s now recovering in intensive care at Memorial Hermann hospital.
