It took place on September 30, two days after Bordeaux’s Under-17 side lost to Nantes.
Tensions allegedly rose during the game with an altercation on the pitch that day.
But according to ESPN, things escalated 48 hours later as the three youngsters attacked their colleague.
It is understood all four players involved are 16.
A Bordeaux statement said: “We learned of a serious incident that took place between four young people at the training centre on September 30, after which one of them was admitted to the hospital for medical examinations.
“We immediately contacted the family of this young person to be with him in this difficult moment and assure him of our full support.
“As of today, three young people have been called to a preliminary interview ahead of possible sanctions, providing us with the time to conduct an internal investigation and to clearly identify those who played a major role in this incident.”
The victim was released from hospital on Thursday but will be out of action for at least two weeks as he continues to recover.
Meanwhile, the alleged attackers were interviewed by the club as part of an internal investigation.
They were placed in custody in Merignac police station on Wednesday.

And after being questioned by the authorities, they were released.
Just two weeks prior to the incident at Bordeaux, Nice teenager Lamine Diaby-Fadiga stole a £62,000 watch from club team-mate Kasper Dolberg.
Diaby-Fadiga, who cited jealousy as his motive, was sacked by the Ligue 1 club last week and joined second-division side Paris FC for free.
