Coronation Street spoilers: Michelle Connor finally catches out Robert Preston after a tip off from Liz McDonald
ROBERT Preston’s house of cards look like they’re about to come tumbling down around him in Coronation Street this week as fiancée Michelle Connor becomes suspicious of his behaviour.
So how is the ITV soap‘s two-timing restaurateur going to cover up his tracks this time – or is it already too late for him? Let’s find out…
When Robert tells Michelle (Kym Marsh) that he’s spending the morning doing his accounts, she doesn’t think too much about it.
But later when Liz McDonald tells Michelle that she had Robert in her cab, her suspicions are piqued and she heads off in hot pursuit to track him down at the Chariot Hotel bar where he was dropped off.
When Michelle eventually finds Robert, he confesses to her that he has come to teach slimy Ray a lesson after he made a pass at her.
But Michelle manages to talk him out of it and persuades him to come home.
She then decides they need a break and they book a last minute holiday to Mallorca.
But then a concerned Robert then worries how he’ll break the news to his other fiancée, pregnant Vicky Jefferies.
Last month it was revealed that Robert – who’s played by Tristan Gemmill in the ITV soap – would soon be left fighting for his life after being involved in a horror car smash which brings both the women in his life to the hospital.
A source exclusively told The Sun Online: “Robert’s speeding in Michelle’s car when he crashes into a lorry.
“He’ll be rushed to hospital after the horror crash but that’s just the beginning of his problems.
“Both his fiancées Michelle and Vicky will be terrified when they hear of what’s happened and head to the hospital to be with him.”
Robert has gone to desperate lengths in recent months to keep the women from finding out about each other – ending up engaged to both of them as he tries to save his relationship with Michelle while being a father to his unborn baby with Vicky.

But after a series of near-misses the accident could be the very thing that puts them in the same room together.
The insider added: “If they come face to face Robert’s lies could be exposed and his whole life will fall apart.
“They’ll want to kill him – but he’ll have to survive catastrophic injuries first.”
