MARCUS RASHFORD admitted Manchester United’s woeful form is not “good enough” and revealed he is “hurt” after defeat at Newcastle.
United were again embarrassed on Sunday after debutant Matty Longstaff smashed in a winner leaving Rashford & Co 12th in the league – TWO points above relegation.
And the England striker insisted fans “deserve better” with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men winning just two of their eight league matches so far this term
He tweeted: “You can’t hide in football and the last few weeks simply haven’t been good enough.
“As a United fan myself, that hurts. And you deserve better.
“We know we need to improve and that is our sole focus as a team and as a club.”
Rashford, who has looked exhausted in recent weeks leading the line, was not the only player critical of his side’s performances.
Keeper David De Gea – who has been United’s saviour throughout his Old Trafford career – admitted they must improve “everything”.
Having failed to win away in 11 games, De Gea urged his team-mates to “step up” as they host Liverpool in two weeks’ time in what could decide manager Solskjaer’s fate.
He told Sky Sports: “We didn’t create any proper chances. We defended well.
“The team needs to step up. We have some big injuries but that’s no excuse.
“We are Manchester United, we need to keep training hard, fighting and winning games.”
Asked what needs improving, the keeper said: “Everything. A lot of things to improve.

“I don’t know what to say. Keep trying, fighting, improving every day. It’s a hard moment for us.
“The most difficult time since I’ve been here. I don’t know why, what is happening. Sorry to the fans. We will keep fighting.
“Come on, we conceded a goal from a corner. That cannot happen. It’s unacceptable.”
