The Walking Dead leaves fans flabbergasted as producers reveal they’re planning one-off musical episode
THE Walking Dead is more known for its ruthless character deaths and brutal effects than its musical notes, but that’s all going to change with a one-off musical episode.
Chief content officer for AMC’s zombie drama, Scott Gimple, has said they are “trying to work on” one, meaning this could be a reality next season.
Speaking on a panel at New York Comic Con on Saturday, Gimple said: “People always come up with that,” when asked about the idea of a musical episode.
“We are actually trying to work on [a musical episode]. You heard it here.”
There was a mixed reaction online to the episode, with most incredibly confused about this direction.
One person asked: “why is the walking dead doing a musical episode.”
A second said: “Wtf, a musical episode doesn’t fit into the walking dead AT ALL.”
A third had a more extreme reaction, saying: “A Walking Dead musical episode? Kill it. Kill it with fire!”
Another had a suggestion: “if this walking dead musical episode doesn’t have a performance of “thriller”, i ain’t want it.”
The Walking Dead would be following in a long tradition of non-musical shows airing a one-off episode filled with songs.
