UK weather forecast – Met Office warns Britain faces week-long washout with thunder storms and flood alerts
BRITS are braced for a wet week of heavy showers, thunderstorms and flooding.
The UK will be battered by heavy rains this week as yet more bad weather and flood warnings are issued.

The Met Office have warned there is a danger some towns may become cut off, after parts of the country were drenched in two inches of rain.
Monday will see heavy rains. followed by lower temperatures feeling especially cool under cloud and rain.
Rains will be followed by strong winds with speeds in some areas of Scotland reaching highs of almost 40mph.
Monday night will see heavy showers mainly across the northwest of the UK with Tuesday bringing a day of heavy, blustery downpours.
Met Office forecaster Helen Roberts said: “It’s rather a soggy start to the working week especially across northern and western parts of the country – a very wet commute on Monday morning and there will be a lot of surface water around on the roads.”
Tuesday will see yet more heavy showers, but mixed with some sunshine as the worst of the wet will be concentrated in the West of the country.
Wednesday continues on with blustery showers and yet more rain on Thursday.
Those in the east of the country will see some respite on Thursday as showers briefly let up.
Friday will see a fresh wave of low air pressure, forecasters say – continuing the weather’s theme of the week.

It said homes and businesses are likely to be flooded with damage to some buildings and adds there is “a good chance some communities are cut off by flooded roads”.
It also warned of a “danger to life” due to deep or fast flowing floodwater and says power cuts are possible and driving conditions could become “difficult”.
