Gogglebox star George Gilbey jailed for three months for drink-driving after being caught nearly three times the legal limit
GOGGLEBOX favourite George Gilbey has been jailed for three months for drink-driving.
The 35-year-old — also a finalist in Celebrity Big Brother — was arrested after staff at a filling station smelt drink on him.
He is thought to have run out of fuel for his Vauxhall and walked to a Tesco for advice about filling a can.
Staff guessed he had been drinking and called police.
Gilbey — known on the Channel 4 reality shop for his cheeky wit and high voice — was breathalysed and shown to have drunk nearly three times the legal limit.
Gilbey, of Clacton, Essex, admitted the charge at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court.
He was jailed because he was serving a community punishment for attacking his ex-girlfriend in a drunken rage.
The JPs also banned him from driving for five years.
Gilbey’s parents Linda and Peter are starring in the latest series of Gogglebox.

The family were temporarily axed from the show when George took part in Celebrity Big Brother in 2014.
Linda and Peter, both 69, returned without their son.
A spokesman for road safety charity Brake said: “Drink driving puts lives at risk.”
