Fancy-dress Catwoman leads cops to knifeman on her way to kids’ party
A FANCY-dress Catwoman became a real-life superhero when she got her claws into a knife crime unfolding in front of her.
Rebecca Godden, 28, had been heading to act as the entertainer at a children’s party when she saw a man with a blade rush out of a block of flats.
He chased a couple down an alleyway and Rebecca immediately dialled 999. After giving cops the location, she went to her six-year-old customer’s birthday party in Kidbrooke, South East London.
But just as she was about to start her cat costume capers with the kids, three cop cars screeched up outside the house.
Rebecca said: “I had to go and speak to the police but I didn’t take the mask or wig off as the kids were arriving and it would have ruined the magic for them.
“I walked outside and some of the police started laughing. I have to admit it annoyed me a bit.”
The cops may have been reminded of the classic Only Fools and Horses episode where Del Boy and Rodney — on their way to a party in fancy-dress as Batman and Robin — accidentally interrupt an attempted mugging.

Rebecca went on: “I pointed out where I’d seen the knifeman then I said, like a diva, ‘I hope I’ve given you a good laugh today’.
“Then I strutted back inside with my tail wagging behind me.”
A Met Police spokesman said officers are investigating the incident, which happened at 1pm on October 12.
