CHEF Rick Stein – famed for tasty fish dishes and his friendly cooking style – revealed a very cheeky side to his character as he let slip the hilarious name for his first ever restaurant.
The 72-year-old was chatting to Virgin Radio Breakfast Show host, Chris Evans, when he made the funny confession about his initial restaurant in Cornwall.

Rick told how he almost named his debut eatery in Padstow The Gay Prawn, before confessing the most underrated food in the area was the winkle.
Chris, 53, probed him further, and quizzed: “But what about the pickled winkle, a little kiosk?”
Rick replied: “It’s going to happen.
“Well, I think it’s quite good name, actually, because, you know, when we came, we’re looking for the name for the seafood restaurant.

“I remember at one stage we were going to call it The Gay Prawn, which would be quite funny.”
Rick’s flagship restaurant in Padstow is actually called The Seafood Restaurant, and opened in 1975.
The TV favourite, who was loved by viewers for his previous shows with his Jack Russell Chalky, is set to launch new BBC 2 show, Secret France.
And it might come as a surprise to fans that the cuisine across the Channel is actually his favourite.

Rick told Chris’ Virgin show, which airs every weekday: “The reality is, is I’ve been cooking French food ever since my first foreign experience was French food.
“So I’ve stayed faithful to it, a lot of people have just gone off and said it’s not what it used to be and that’s part of the program really, is just to see is it what it used to be.
“But I think, you know, when you go to France and you go to those markets in France and you end up saying, well, they’re still there, they’re still in charge in terms of raw materials.
