The Toffees confirmed that the Gomes was to have surgery after the player was rushed to hospital.
And they have now tweeted out that Gomes is expected to make a “full recovery”, though they failed to give an update on when he will be back on the pitch.
They said: “Everton Football Club can confirm Andre Gomes underwent surgery to repair a fracture dislocation to his right ankle earlier today and the procedure went extremely well.
“Andre will now spend some time recovering in hospital, before returning to USM Finch Farm to start his rehabilitation under the guidance of the club’s medical staff.
“He is expected to make a full recovery.
“On behalf of Andre, the club would like to thank all Everton supporters and members of the wider football family for the overwhelming messages of support we have received since yesterday’s match.”

Gomes was taken off on a stretcher following a tackle by Spurs star Son, who was given a red card and left the field in tears.
The traumatised South Korean was initially going to be awarded a yellow card for a foul on the 26-year-old.
But Martin Atkinson upgraded it to a red as medics rushed to the aid of the Portuguese ace.
A Premier League statement said: “The red card for Son was for endangering the safety of a player which happened as a consequence of his initial challenge.”

Tottenham have confirmed they will appeal the red card their boss Mauricio Pochettino labelled Atkinson’s decision as “unbelievable.”
It appeared that Gomes’ leg got caught in the turf as he landed awkwardly in the 78th minute.
Son’s tackle forced him to ground, with Serge Aurier then colliding with the former Barcelona ace just as he hit the deck.
Seamus Coleman instantly called for medics to treat his team-mate, as Cenk Tosun cradled Gomes’ head as he laid screaming on the floor.

Aurier – who was involved in the collision – had to be replaced five minutes after Gomes went off.
He looked visibly distraught and was seen praying as Goodison Park fell silent.
SumSport reported how two young Everton fans were left visibly distraught after witnessing at close quarters the horror unfold.
Television footage showed two young Toffees supporters in the front row covering their mouths in horror.
Another next to them screamed when she saw the position Gomes’ foot was in as medics rushed on to help.
