Say Yes To The Dress bride’s sister insists ‘beautiful’ sparkly wedding gown would look better on her
A BRIDE-TO-BE was taken aback when her sister told her she was more suited to the sparkly wedding dress she was trying on.
The woman called Alison – who is a self-confessed “tomboy” – is seen in a TV show aired tonight looking shocked when her younger sibling Fiona insists a white frock is “more me than you”.
A bride-to-be called Alison was seen in search of her perfect bridal gown on ‘Say Yes To The Dress’ tonight[/caption]In this evening’s episode of TLC programme ‘Say Yes To The Dress Lancashire’, the betrothed civil engineer explains that she is excited to swap her hard hat and high-vis vest for some stunning bridalwear.
“I just want to feel fabulous,” says Alison.
“I’m usually a tomboy so this is my one opportunity to go the complete polar opposite.”
However, sister Fiona was very keen to point out that she was the “girl” one out of the pair.

“Before I was born, not one ounce of pink entered the house. And then I came along and it all turned pink!”
Alison is presented with a beautiful low-cut gown, with sparkly detail, by host and stylist Gok Wan.
“Oh wow, it’s gorgeous,” exclaims Alison.
Her sibling told her the first “beautiful” sparkly, low-cut option was “more me”[/caption]“This is not what I usually wear, this is not me, I never get to dress up. My sister’s the girly one, I’ve always been the tomboy.
Gok tells her: ” You’ve literally given me goosebumps.
“You can see that you’re having a real moment with your dress and this is what every bride searches for.”
However, the happy atmosphere changes when Fiona gave her verdict.
Her mum then slammed the second option as a too “ordinary”[/caption]She says: “Yeah this is weird, but I don’t know. I think it’s more me than you.
“We’re not used to seeing you like that. It’s so different!
“It’s lovely, but I’m not ready to cry just yet.”
Surprised by her comments, Alison starts to have doubts about the glamour of the dress.
Alison, a self-confessed “tomboy”, said she was looking forward to being feminine on her big day[/caption]Escorting her back to the changing room, Gok jokes: “Alright, she’s the b*** stylist now. Come with me!”
He then puts her in a sweet, but more pared back, option, which Fiona says is “more you. The shape’s lovely”.
However, her mum Judith wasn’t a fan, noting: “I’m singing from a different hymn sheet.
Host and stylist Gok Wan told her the first dress gave him “goosebumps”[/caption]“Having seen the bling, I prefer the first one. That one looks lovely but quite ordinary.”
In the end, Alison chooses a third dress which was a compromise between the two others.
The bride says: ” ‘It’s wonderful, I love it. If my mum says she hates the dress, I’m going to find a new mum!”
Fortunately, Judith was a fan, enthusing: “It brings out your best bits, she looks just stunning!”
