But experts claim you can actually enjoy a proper family Christmas Day for less than £100.

According to financial app Wagestream, it’s possible to stock up on everything – from booze to pressies – on a budget, if you’re savvy.
They have revealed exactly what you should buy, and where from, to keep costs down to an incredible £99.61 this December 25th.
“Christmas can be hugely stressful for many households, as there is massive pressure to deliver the perfect day for all the family,” said Peter Briffett, CEO of Wagestream.
“Children are bombarded with adverts showing expensive must-have toys, and families end up over-spending on Christmas in an attempt to keep up with the Joneses, which can result in expensive interest payments for credit card debt and loans in January.

These include Aldi bubbly, veg from Waitrose and even a festive table cloth.
The most expensive item is, of course, the turkey – which will set you back £9.99 from Lidl.
