WALMART has apologized for selling a Christmas “cocaine” sweater appearing to show Santa Claus enjoying three lines of “Grade A Colombian snow.”
The retail giant was forced to remove some adult-only garments from its Canadian website, including the one apparently depicting St. Nick enjoying some illegal drugs this festive season.
The item, produced by clothing company FUN Wear, got so much attention on social media that Walmart had to say sorry and remove it.
“These sweaters, sold by a third-party seller on Walmart.ca, do not represent Walmart’s values and have no place on our website,” a spokesperson told Global News.
“We have removed these products from our marketplace. We apologize for any unintended offense this may have caused.”
In the online advert, a smiling male model dons the sweater which features a knitted-in Santa sitting at a table with three lines of a suspicious white substance.
The description read: “We all know how snow works. It’s white, powdery and the best snow comes straight from South America.
“That’s bad news for jolly old St Nick, who lives far away in the North Pole.
“That’s why Santa really likes to savour the moment when he get his hands on some quality, grade A, Colombian snow.
“He packs it in perfect lines on his coffee table and then takes a big whiff to smell the high quality aroma of the snow.”
We all know how snow works. It’s white, powdery and the best snow comes straight from South America.
It also mentioned how Santa was “finally ready to enjoy that sweet, imported snow.”
Other sweaters sold at the Walmart Canada store via the third-party company FUN Wear, included one showing a trouser-less Santa roasting his “chestnuts” before an open fire.
Another sweater showed Santa being whipped BDSM-style along with the slogan “Santa has been naughty.”
The ‘Santa Probe Ugly Christmas Sweater’ – showing Santa lying on a table with his pants halfway down with an alien holding a probe – was also reportedly removed
But not all of the slogan garments were pulled from the Walmart’s ‘ugly sweater’ section.
A jumper showing Santa spanking a scantily-clad Mrs Claus was still available on Monday morning.
