THIS teen came up with a genius way to convince her mum to buy her a puppy for Christmas.
Kayla Severi, 18, from Australia’s New South Wales, wrote mum Melissa, 38, a hilarious CV – to convince her she deserves a pooch.

She still lives at home and was desperate to get a Staffy, so applied for the job of ‘professional dog owner’ in the letter – and it worked!
She also detailed her “abilities and qualifications”, which included “excellent time management” (important for dog training and walking), having “hella money”, and the fact she is her mum’s “favourite daughter”.
The pizza chef added: “I solemnly swear on cheesecake and all things holy to take into consideration the time and expenses of owning a pet.
“My best quality is love and kindness – and I love you a lot. I also love this dog a lot.”

Kayla explained: “I have two family dogs already, but my friend sent me a Snapchat of his cousin who is selling some puppies.
“I’ve been wanting one for ages and it’s Christmas, so I finally got the money from working all year and I feel like I’m old enough now to have my own dog and care for it.
“I live with mum, so at the end of the day it’s her house and her rules and if she doesn’t want a puppy, I won’t be able to get one.
“She already said that it wasn’t going to happen, but I didn’t want to give up that easily.
“I decided that my best chances for her to say yes was if I asked her in a really creative way.”

As well as the CV and cover letter, Kayla penned an 800-word essay full of statistics about how owning a puppy would improve her mental health, as well as boosting her companionship, responsibility and money-handling skills.
She added: “I went to the shops and bought her some lollies as well, just to put her in an even better mood.”
Melissa found the entire thing hilarious, and burst out laughing when she got the letter, but still said “no”.
Luckily, she reconsidered later when she read the application properly.

Kayla said: “She finally gave in. It took a lot of convincing, me just asking her wasn’t really enough so I had to try extra hard.
“I’d definitely recommend this to other kids for their parents. It worked on my mum, so you never know – it could work on other people too!”
Bandit the Staffy is now a fully fledged member of Kayla’s family – so it may be worth trying this one this Christmas!
