HARVEY Weinstein has complained that he is a “forgotten man” and insisted his back pain is not faked.
In a new interview, the disgraced movie mogul whined that his apparently pioneering work with women has been overlooked amid the #MeToo scandal.
Speaking to Page Six from his flashy hospital room, Weinstein insisted he was only going ahead with the unprecedented interview to prove he wasn’t exaggerating his back pain.
The 67-year-old, who is awaiting trial for rape, says he sustained a back injury in August for which he has recently undergone a three hour surgery.
Recent court appearances have seen the mogul using a walking frame with some suggesting that he was exaggerating his injuries to garner sympathy – which he vehemently denies, adding: “I think they wanted to embarrass me.”
The alleged sex-pest used the interview to launch a bizarre pity-party, insisting: “I want this city to recognize who I was instead of what I’ve become.”
He continued: “It all got eviscerated because of what happened…My work has been forgotten.”
Weinstein refused to discuss his criminal charges – including rape, predatory sexual assault and criminal sex acts – all of which he denies – throughout the unprecedented chat.
Wientstein also moaned that he had “made more movies directed by women and about women than any filmmaker,” bizarrely insisting that he “pioneered” women in film despite the slew of allegations against him.
