A Downing Street spokesperson said today: “The Prime Minister spoke with President Trump, who congratulated him on the result of the General Election.
“They discussed the huge importance of the relationship between the UK and US, and looked forward to continued close cooperation on issues such as security and trade, including the negotiation of an ambitious free trade agreement.”
Last week the US President promised a “massive trade deal” with Britain after Britain finally leaves the EU.
He congratulated the Prime Minister and urged him to “celebrate” what looks to be the most dominant Tory government since Margaret Thatcher.
He tweeted: “Congratulations to Boris Johnson on his great WIN! Britain and the United States will now be free to strike a massive new Trade Deal after BREXIT.
“This deal has the potential to be far bigger and more lucrative than any deal that could be made with the E.U. Celebrate Boris!”
His daughter Ivanka also showered Bo Jo with praise tweeting: “Congratulations Prime Minister Boris Johnson!”
Now Boris has his much-needed majority, he’s confident of getting us out before January.
The PM will bring back his Brexit Bill to the Commons on Friday, and MPs could vote on it if the Speaker allows.
Boris and Trump previously agreeing to strike a UK-US trade deal in lightning quick time during a recent visit by the PM to the States.

Boris was initially sceptical about Trump’s aim to have a deal tied up in just nine months time.
But he was persuaded to aim for it because of the high risk that the US presidential election in November poses.
The deal the two leaders are aiming is understood to be the biggest free trade agreement that the US has ever done with another country.
