Star Wars: The Mandalorian’s Baby Yoda threatens to KILL Groot in brutal SNL parody sketch
SATURDAY Night Live has ripped apart Star Wars’ baby Yoda – and created a feud with another cute green Disney creature at the same time.
On Saturday’s episode of the variety show comedian Kyle Mooney donned a baby Yoda costume to make an appearance on the Weekend Update segment after Michael Che revealed the internet had gone crazy over the little alien.
But instead of playing him cute and silent as we have so far seen on The Mandalorian, Mooney’s Yoda revealed he had beef with Marvel’s baby Groot.
And he wasn’t afraid to threaten the tree.
“Baby Groot do me a favour, keep my name out your little tree mouth before I snap you like a twig,” said baby Yoda.
Groot, your move.

As Che invited baby Yoda on the show, he bean by dancing around until he broke character: “Yeah you like that Che? I am killing it, I am cute!”
Che then asked him why he didn’t sound like the Yoda we know and love, and he added: “Oh sound like this I should, Nah come on man, baby Yoda is what’s popping right now, hell yeah,
“Oh come on, it ain’t even like that but I have been blessed, people like the show, and all the memes and the fans, some sliding in the DMs a little bit, not saying anything but it’s been a little beneficial, let’s leave it at that.”
Although season one of the hit Disney+ show has not yet finished airing, fans have been awaiting the fate of the Yoda lookalike – currently known only as The Child – and hoping that he won’t get a grim ending.
The little green creature has been the breakout character of the Disney+ series, with fans falling in love with his adorable face and special powers.
While series creator Jon Favreau is keeping relatively tight lipped about Baby Yoda’s future, he did promise fans they will “learn more about him over the course of the season”.
And there’s certainly a lot to learn, as little is really known about the original Yoda, let alone his younger counterpart.
Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, Jon explained: “I think what’s great about what George [Lucas] created is that Yoda proper, the character that we grew up watching, was always shrouded in mystery, and that was what made him so archetypal and so mythic.”

He added: “We know who he is based on his behaviour and what he stands for, but we don’t know a lot of details about where he comes from or his species.
“I think that’s why people are so curious about this little one of the same species.”
