However, it appears things are only about to get worse for poor Chantelle.
The successful lawyer, who is played by Toby Alexander Smith, is desperate for a baby after Chantelle’s recent miscarriage and has been pressuring her to try again.
So after returning from their honeymoon, Gray prompts Chantelle to take a pregnancy test but when she says it’s too early, he suggests they try again.
Shortly after, Chantelle takes a test but when it comes back negative, Gray is left angered and grabs her wrist.

It’s clear Chantelle, who is played by Jessica Plummer, is in pain as he grabs her wrist tighter.
Chantelle is certain she needs to go to hospital, but later lies and says she tripped on the stairs.
She reassures Grey and blames herself for the incident.
Fans of the show have watched the character bear the brunt of Gray’s controlling behaviour for months.

In terrifying scenes in September, Chantelle was hit in the stomach by the brute after he convinced himself he’d been left out at a family party.
EastEnders boss Kate Oates revealed that the storyline between the married couple is set to get even worse in the upcoming months.
She said “We’ve got great stuff for Chantelle and Gray. That storyline will be continuing EastEnders’ tradition of stories which explore really important issues. We’re going to be pushing that story.”
She added: “We’ve been building it quite gently very deliberately and building the sort of public — by which I mean the Square — the public perception of the kind of man Gray is and the kind of marriage that they have, so we’ll be exploring that.”
