DRAMATIC CCTV images show the moment a brazen arsonist struck on Christmas Eve by pouring petrol on a “bullied” woman’s car.
The fire-raiser can be clearly seen approaching the 19-year-old’s Mercedes car and dousing it in petrol before lying down to put fuel under the vehicle.
The track-suited man is then seen laying a petrol trail from the car onto the road and then using a lighter to start the huge fireball which threatened to engulf the house where the teenager and her family were sleeping.
The clear footage then shows the man, wearing flip-flops, sprinting off as the car explodes into flames in Reading, Berks.
Around 15 minutes later, firefighters tackled the flames which had destroyed the car, badly damaged a neighbour’s vehicle, burned out wheelie bins and scorched the house.
The Mercedes A180 – which was left completely burned out – belonged to 19-year-old Ambreen Farooq.
The teenager claimed today she was forced out of her job at a water company due to jealously of her luxury car and the expensive holidays she enjoyed.
Over the last two months, the online bullying got so bad that I retaliated, which resulted in the car being keyed on December 15
Ambreen Farooq
She said: “The jealousy and bullying started when I began working.
“I used to get tweets about my parents buying me things but throughout 2018 it wasn’t too bad.
Just weeks before the arsonist set the car on fire, Ambreen says she saw someone dressed in a Puffa jacket walked up to the same Mercedes that was torched on the family’s drive on Christmas Eve and used a key to scratch along the side of it.
She said: “When I went on holiday it was blatant the tweets were about me, I recently got back from Dubai and something very direct was tweeted about my holiday.”
She added: “Over the last two months, the online bullying got so bad that I retaliated, which resulted in the car being keyed on December 15.”

“I don’t know why someone would attack someone like this just over being jealous.”
