Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo thinks fans will ‘freak out’ over a series four storyline.
The 17-year-old plays Dustin Henderson in the hit Netflix series, and teased what fans could expect from the fourth season during a chat with Variety.
Series three ended with Jim Hopper seemingly dying in a blast as he tried to save Hawkins residents from the Upside Down.
The sheriff’s death prompted a number of characters to leave the town, and Gaten thinks fans will have a strong reaction to the repercussions of that decision in series four.
He said: “He’s flapping in the wind at this point. At the end of the season, all the kids are divided because everyone moves away from Hawkins.
“Eleven goes with Will and Joyce to go try and find some type of peace and the rest of the gang stays behind.
“I don’t necessarily know how that’s going to work. I mean Mike and El being separated is crazy.
“I think fans are going to freak out.”
Gaten also opened up about his favourite fan theory during the chat.
He revealed: “My favourite theory is that Suzie’s actually a Russian mastermind and spy working with the Russian government.
“I think it’s so stupid and so funny. I hope that doesn’t play out because that would be weird.”
His comments come after the Stranger Things writers dropped another hint about what fans can expect from season four.
While show bosses are yet to officially confirm whether Hopper is alive or not, they have kept fans on their toes with a series of clues in recent months.

The latest came after fans on Twitter noticed that the show’s official account had included a small symbol next to its name – a white-framed square with a black centre.
One user asked: “What’s up with that square name?”
The official account responded: “One last tease before the New Year,” alongside a devil emoji.
Suffice to say it didn’t take long for people to come forward with their theories.
One claimed that the clue was geographical, with the symbol representing Times Square in New York.
Another thought that it was a link to Hawkins Middle School, given its similarity to a chalkboard.
