Disney+ drops first look at Lizzie McGuire reboot and it’s ‘what dreams are made of’
DISNEY has shared a three-second first look at the Lizzie McGuire reboot ahead of its 2020 release and it sent the internet into meltdown.
Hilary Duff will return as the iconic Disney channel teen – only now she’s in her thirties and living in New York with her dream boyfriend, until a trip back to LA sees her falling back in love with family and old friends.
Fans were over the moon to see the short snippet of the new series, which featured Lizzie rushing to a car window in to which she leaned and said: “Hi, it’s me.”
Taking to social media, one fan exclaimed: “OH MY GOD THE CLIP OF LIZZIE MCGUIRE GAVE ME GOOSEBUMPS AND IT WAS JUST HILARY DUFF SAYING “HI ITS ME” THIS GIVES ME MY RIGHTS.”
Another added: “Pardon me freaking out because Lizzie McGuire is at it again and this time she’s living out her dream in a city which is MY dream city hey now hey now.”
Hilary confirmed in August that the show would be back, with the actress, 31, telling fans she was “beyond excited” to be bringing the iconic character back to TV screens in an updated Disney Plus series.

The original series ran for two seasons between 2001 and 2004 and followed the life of a 13-year-old girl who dreamed of being popular.
Alongside her best friends Miranda (Lalaine) and Gordo (Adam Lamberg), she dealt with family issues, school and teenage life.
The show was so popular it spawned spin-off film The Lizzie McGuire Movie, which was released in 2003.
The flick saw Lizzie and Gordo head on a class trip to Rome – where Lizzie found she had a pop star double and sang at the Italian Music Awards.

There is still no release date for the show, but with the channel only arriving in the UK in March, British fans hopefully won’t have to wait too long once it’s here.
