EIGHTEEN Brit holidaymakers were in hospital last night after a suspected food poisoning attack at a top hotel in the Italian Alps.
The group were tucking into a New Year’s Day dinner on the slopes when several suddenly reported feeling ill and throwing up.

Paramedics were called to the four star Hotel Miravalle at Sauze D’Oulx in the famous Milky Way ski resort north of Turin and a fleet of ambulances rushed those affected which included men, women and children to local hospitals.
Police and health officials were also dispatched to the hotel and last night they were carrying out an urgent investigation of the building although doctors said none of the Brits were seriously ill.
Hotel manager Razvan Illie said:”We are all just waiting to see what happens whether it was something they ate here or elsewhere. I ate at the hotel and I felt fine, I ate what they all did and nothing happened to me.
”The clients are all with tour operators and we have told them what’s happened and they are also investigating for the moment the hotel is still open and the kitchen is operating.
”Other guests are still here and they are fine – I have been up since 4am trying to sort things out and help as best I can.”
The holidaymakers had arrived for the break with Luton based operators Crystal Ski last week.
A spokesperson for TUI UK said””We can confirm that a number of customers staying at the Hotel Miravalle have reported that they had been unwell, with some seeking further medical advice. We are currently investigating what may have caused this.
“We would like to reassure customers that we take health and hygiene very seriously, and the safety and wellbeing of our customers is our highest priority.
“Our Crystal Ski Holidays reps in resort are on hand to support any customers who reported that they are unwell. We are working closely with our resort team and the hotel’s management to help prevent further illness spreading.”
The Foreign Office said it was unaware of the incident.
