BRITISH drivers could soon check their blind spot by looking in their rear-view mirror.
Aston Martin is set to unveil a rear-view mirror system that allows motorists to monitor traffic to the side of the vehicle at the Consumer Electronics Show next week.
The British automaker has partnered up with car parts supplier Gentex Corporation to build the Full Display Mirror which displays three video feeds.
Using cameras mounted to the each side of the car and on the roof, drivers are given live footage of what is happening in their blind spots.
All three videos are combined onto the same rear-view mirror in a bid to give owners a 360-degree view while behind the wheel.
But if required, drivers can switch the LED screen off and use the mirror in the traditional way.
The screen can also automatically switch itself off if poor weather conditions obstruct its view.
It’s not known when the technology will be rolled out across the remainder of Aston Martin’s fleet.
But the company has already introduced a single-camera version in the 2020 DBS GT Zagato.
