Jill said of the kitchen: “I just wanted everything open. It makes it nice being able to see what’s going on in the living room from the kitchen, and even the backyard too.”

The couple stopped filming for Counting On in 2017.
Derick claimed his family filmed for the show without compensation, as he was under the impressed Duggar kids “didn’t make any money from the show.”
He explained to a fan on Instagram: “We were pressured to think that we were required to [film] and that we would get sued if we didn’t.
“But rather, it was presented to us kids as something that was done as a ministry that TLC periodically subsidized in the form of reimbursements for things like gas, restaurants, travel, etc. But not any actual pay on top of that.”
