Couple slammed as ‘tacky’ for telling guests not to be ‘tight’ when donating to their honeymoon fund
A COUPLE have been slammed as ‘tacky’ after sending a wedding invite to their friends telling them not to be ‘tight’ when it came to donating money.
The bride and groom sent out invitations to their friends and family with all the key details including date, time, location – and wedding gifts.
Rather than skirting around the issue the husband and wife-to-be addressed it head on in their invite, informing people that they can donate to their honeymoon fund.
The pair were rather blunt in their message, and even managed to throw in a swear word.
Under the heading ‘wedding gifts’, they said: “If you did want to give a small gift, a small contribution to your honeymoon would be perfect…
“Don’t be a tight f***.”
A snap of the mouthy invite was shared to Reddit, where people have branded the couple ‘trashy’.
One person asked: “Who curses in a wedding invitation? Give granny a heart attack.”
Another said: “Wow. I wouldn’t go to that wedding at all. Those people don’t deserve having others celebrate them.”
A third commented: “Yikes, going to pass on that gift. Tacky and foul to boot.”
Someone else thought: “Sounds like a lovely couple.”
This person added: “I hope there’ll be poor attendance at the wedding. People like this don’t deserve friends.”
