Man seriously injured after shots fired on London street in front of terrified shoppers
A MAN has been seriously injured after shots were reportedly fired in broad daylight in a London street this afternoon.
Frantic witnesses said they heard gunshots and say a man lying on the pavement on Streatham High Street.
It is not clear what happened but some eyewitnesses claim a man had a knife before he was shot.
Police scrambled to the busy south London street just after 2pm this afternoon, with a helicopter arriving shortly afterwards.
Lambeth MPS tweeted “officers are dealing with an incident in Streatham”.
They added “we will share information as we have it”.
The Sun Online has contacted the Metropolitan Police for further comment.
