CONOR McGREGOR’S next fight is set to be against the winner of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson, according to UFC President Dana White.
McGregor, 31, was beaten by Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018 in a grudge match that spilled over afterwards as the Russian jumped out of the Octagon to attack the Irishman’s team.
And the unfinished business between the pair of them is something that has led to public pressure for a rematch.
But Khabib will have to come through Ferguson at UFC 249 in April, with the winner setting up a super fight with McGregor.
McGregor had been linked with fights against Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal, but they are now off the table after it was revealed the two will pit their wits against each other.
Speaking about the Crumlin-born martial artist’s next bout, White said: “Probably the winner of Khabib and Tony.”
The quotes from White come after it was reported Khabib has been offered £150million to fight McGregor and Floyd Mayweather in Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, Bob Arum, promoter of pound-for-pound boxing star Terence Crawford, believes McGregor could be facing his man next.
He said: “Crawford will do McGregor in the Octagon and three months later in the ring.
“Octagon would be first, I don’t want them to think we’re playing around…
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Crawford pins McGregor in an MMA fight.
