ANTONIO CONTE has defended his time at Chelsea by pointing out that he won the Premier League in his first season, unlike Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola.
The current Inter Milan boss led the Blues to the title in the 2016/17 campaign as they finished seven points clear of their nearest challengers Tottenham.
Conte then went on to win the FA Cup in his second and final season with the club, before being replaced by Maurizio Sarri in the summer.
However, despite the somewhat acrimonious end to his tenure with the west London outfit, the 50-year-old still believes his time there should be seen as a success.
“At Chelsea, I won the Premier League in the first year and the FA Cup in the second year.
“Klopp hasn’t won anything yet in England after four years and Guardiola didn’t win anything in his first year.”
Klopp joined Liverpool in 2015 and had not won a trophy until his side lifted the Champions League in June of last year.
And Guardiola finished his first season in England – the same 2016/17 campaign as Conte – with Manchester City third in the Premier League, the only season in the Spaniard’s managerial career where he has not won a trophy.

Since his time at Chelsea, Conte took some time out before joining Inter in May 2019.
He inherited a side who had finished the previous Serie A season fourth, 21 points off champions Juventus.
But he has injected an impressive new look to the team with the addition of Romelu Lukaku as the Nerazzurri’s gap to the top in this campaign is just sit just six points.
