US superstar Lizzo will perform with UK rapper Dave at BRIT Awards
THE Brit Awards are sure to be Good As Hell this year – Lizzo is performing.
I can reveal the US singer has been signed up to take to the stage at the ceremony, as will the night’s joint-top nominee, Dave. The Brit rapper is up for four awards, equalling Lewis Capaldi, who I announced last month was also on the bill.
But Lizzo is bound to be one of the main draws at the bash at London’s O2 Arena on February 18, despite being a virtual unknown here just 12 months ago.
She regularly twerks and plays the flute during her energetic performances and she is expected to sing a medley of tracks, backed by loads of dancers.
A music insider said: “After she stole the show at Glastonbury last year, Brits bosses were determined to snap up Lizzo. They know she’ll bring some much-needed excitement and energy to the show, as well as glamorous outfits, laughs and an empowering performance.
“It will get everyone on their feet and will be a real talking point.”
The big night continues a momentous rise for Lizzo, who last year was consigned to singing at her label Warner’s Brits after-party at London’s Chiltern Firehouse at 12.30am.
Since then she has released a hit album, Cuz I Love You, had a string of huge singles, won three Grammys and completed a sell-out tour of the UK.
Lizzo, up for the Brits International Female Solo Artist gong, joins a line-up of performers including Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, Mabel and Stormzy.
And it’s big news for Dave too, who has also had an incredible year here in the UK.
He scored a No1 album last March with Psychodrama, which won the Mercury Prize in September.
On being announced to appear, Dave said: “I’m very grateful and looking forward to the opportunity. I’m going to give everything I can to give you my best performance.”
It’s shaping up to be an incredible evening.

Kylie’s even cooler
HERE’S one water cooler moment I am happy to share.
Kylie Jenner posed in this cut-out swimsuit and huge blonde wig for a photoshoot in Harper’s Bazaar.
The US reality star celebrated daughter Stormi’s second birthday at the weekend – and says her pals would love her to have another baby.
Kylie, who split with Stormi’s dad Travis Scott last October, said: “My friends all pressure me about it.
“I definitely feel pressure to give her a sibling, but there’s no plan.”
And Kylie insists she is on good terms with her rapper ex.
She explained: “We’re like best friends.
“We both love Stormi and want what’s best for her. We stay connected and coordinated.”
Kylie, whose cosmetics empire has made her the world’s youngest self-made billionaire, also posed in an office wearing a lavish gown.
She certainly looked frilled to be there.

Caitlyn Jenner fears she will never have another romance. She said: “I don’t see myself having a relationship with anybody in the future. It’s not what I’m looking for. I’ve got so many other things in my life. I’ve been married three times.”
Nicki Minaj
NICKI Minaj looked ready for action in camouflage hotpants and crop top. The rapper showed off her image from all angles as she posed for snaps on a Miami hotel balcony.
She is preparing to drop new music this month and yesterday shared a snippet of new single Yikes online.
But Nicki has divided fans with her lyrics, rapping X-rated lines about the late civil rights activist Rosa Parks.
Clearly she’s still not done with the attention-seeking antics just yet.
Nadine’s dog tale
NADINE Coyle was left devastated while writing her new song after being fooled into thinking her favourite TV presenter had passed away.
The ex-Girls Aloud singer, who released All That I Know on Friday, believed star dog trainer Cesar Millan – host of Dog Whisperer and Cesar 911 in the US – was dead.
She said: “I started crying, not because of the song but because I was told Cesar had died. But it turned out to be an internet hoax which I was so thankful for. So the session started very dramatically . . . very raw.”
Nadine added: “The song is not about Cesar Millan – although I think I do have a song for Cesar.”

KISS are to release a biopic before they retire in 2021. Manager Doc McGhee said: “Hopefully in the next week we’ll have a company behind it, and start finishing the script. By the time we end we’ll have a movie finished for July next year.”
Carlisle Rae Jepsen?
CARLY Rae Jepsen brings her Dedicated tour to the UK this week – and she could soon be here permanently.
The Canadian singer revealed how dating British producer and songwriter James Flannigan has helped her to fall in love with England.
In an exclusive interview, she explained: “I could see myself living there. There’s so much that I love.
“I made James take me to high tea. That was fun.
“I always do a night-time bike ride too.”
To encourage Carly to move to our shores I’ve re-written the words to her hit Call Me Maybe:
Hey, I just met UK and this
is crazy but here’s our Humber
so call me maybe
And Carly’s flamboyant shows at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse on Friday and Brixton Academy in London on Saturday will also have a British influence thanks to Kate Bush.
Carly revealed: “When I discovered her, I texted all of my producer friends, like, ‘How can I incorporate some of this into my world?’
“There’s been a big shift with this tour, just allowing myself to be as theatrical as I want to be on stage.”
Margot’s fantasy Islanders
LOVE Islanders Lucie Donlan, Michael Griffiths and Jordan Hames from the 2019 series got the shock of their lives when A-list movie star Margot Robbie invited them to party with her at the Birds Of Prey London premiere last week.
Lucie recalled: “After the film, we got a video message via an Instagram DM of Margot saying, ‘Please come to the after-party!’ We got ready really quickly and joined her at The Oxo Tower.
“Michael and Jordan got tequila shots in, then we went back to her apartment with a few of her close friends.
“We chatted about surfing, because she’s Australian, and she loves longboarding.
“It was so relaxed – she was just chilling in her slippers!
“She said, ‘If you’re ever in LA, hit us up and we’ll hang out.’ I just couldn’t believe it.”
Souled on ace Celeste
SOUL star Celeste’s year got off to a great start – and it’s only going to get better.
The singer was last month announced as the winner of the BBC Sound Of 2020 poll, which tipped her as the most exciting artist of the coming year, and she played a gig to celebrate.
She sang several tracks including current single Stop This Flame at the Sound of 2020 Live, which goes out on Radio 1 tonight from 8pm.
Tune in to also hear from fellow up-and-coming acts Inhaler, Joy Crookes and Beabadoobee.

ROBERT Pattinson’s new film The Lighthouse has not been a shining beacon for cinema-goers. After missing out during awards season, the flick, which also stars Willem Dafoe, took just £309,000 in its opening weekend – eight years after his final Twilight film took £15.8million in its first weekend.
THE line-up for the Lovebox Festival just got a lot bigger, with ROBYN, below, Fatboy Slim, Annie Mac and Kaytranada added to the three-day event, from June 12 to 14 at Gunnersbury Park in West London. Tyler The Creator, Khalid, Easy Life and Disclosure will also perform.
GEMMA Collins believes her BBC Sounds podcast is so good even ghosts tune in. Recalling a tale from a listener about an episode on spiritual activity, she said: “The light went on in her child’s room. She ran in but her child was not up. I was like, ‘Oh my God, even spirits listen to my podcast.’”
LIAM Gallagher claims his brother Noel turned down a megabucks offer to get Oasis back on the road. In a garbled tweet late on Monday night, the singer said: “We’ve been offered 100 million pounds for a tour – still not enough for the greedy soul. Oh well, stay young.”
