Matthew Perry posts on Instagram for the first time on the same day $20m Friends reunion ‘is confirmed’
MATTHEW Perry has shared his first Instagram post – on the same day as a $20 million Friends reunion was “confirmed”.
Sharing a gif of his Friends character Chandler Bing doing a very Chandler dance, he captioned the post: “This is how thrilled I am to finally be on Instagram. So, here we go…”
His first post came two days after he joined the social media site, with co-stars Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox all offering their support with Phoebe actress Lisa breaking the news by sharing a throwback photo of the pair together at an event.
Adding a classic Friends joke she captioned her snap: “Finally!!! Yay!! Can’t believe my MY EYES Welcome to Instagram @mattperry4 #friends4life.”
Jennifer also made a Chandler joke, commenting: “Yay Matty! Could you TAKE any longer?”
He gained nearly two million followers despite having no posts but by the time of his first post he was creeping up on four million followers.
Along with David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc, the six stars are thought to be set to return for an hour-long unscripted special over 15 years after their hit comedy last aired.
It has been reported that an agreement has been reached “in principle” with streaming platform HBO Max, the six actors and the series’ producers at Warner Bros.
Deadline reported that “each of the six stars will be paid in the $3 million-$4 million range for appearing in the special.”
Excitement has been building for the special since all six of the main co-stars got onboard with the idea last year.
Friends celebrated their 25th anniversary last year and the cast set the internet alight by posing together for a group selfie.
