DEAN HENDERSON wants to usurp David De Gea as Manchester United’s number one and play for the club “500 times”.
The stopper has had a fantastic season on loan from the Red Devils at Sheffield United but he is not ready to rest on his laurels just yet.
Despite being United’s highest earner, De Gea has been criticised for his own form this season and Henderson sees an opportunity.
Speaking to the Kelly and Wrighty show, he said: “The big dream is to play for Manchester United one day.

“I’ve always had that dream throughout my life so until that’s accomplished I’ll never think I’ve made it.
“Even if I play for them once I won’t think I’ve made it.
“I need to play for them 500 times, 300 times, whatever it is, then you can turnaround at the end of your career and say, ‘I made it, I did what I set out to do’.”
The 22-year-old has kept nine Premier League clean sheets this season – which is joint highest with Liverpool’s Alisson and Burnley’s Tom Pope.

And his outstanding form for the Blades has seen him send a strong message to United – reportedly telling friends he will only return to Old Trafford next season if he is to be number one.
They also suggest United chiefs will consider De Gea’s form when they weigh up Henderson’s future.
While his club future remains unclear, there have also been calls for Henderson to be included in Gareth Soutgate’s England squad for this summer’s Euro 2020 tournament.
