OLLY Murs says it’s been “hard to smile” this week after Caroline Flack’s death as he heads home from Bali.
The 35-year-old singer was left devastated last weekend following the tragic news of Caroline’s passing at the age of 40.
The pair had grown close after hosting The Xtra Factor together for two series in 2011 and 2012, and Olly paid a touching tribute to his friend earlier this week while on holiday in Bali.
Today, Olly finally managed to raise a smile as he headed home from the trip with girlfriend Amelia Tank, posting a selfie on social media.
He wrote alongside it: “Finally after 17hrs flying I’m home (think I’m now a sudoku king btw).
“Wow it’s been hard to crack a smile this past week but this face is happy to be home, to see my family an friends which is much needed and get back to work love to you all.”
On Friday, Olly thanked his girlfriend for being a “shoulder to cry on” this past week.
Praising Amelia, he wrote: “When I needed a cry you gave me a shoulder, when I needed space you let me have it and when I needed a kiss you said only on this F**king swing.
“But literally thanks for the last few days, hope I didn’t ruin the last week of your awesome family holiday darlin’.”
He also took to Instagram on Friday morning to share a heartbreaking message about her death.

“Behind the clouds the sun is still shining,” he simply wrote alongside a picture of him lying on a beach as rays of light broke through a cloudy sky.
Caroline and Olly hosted The Xtra Factor in 2011 and 2012, and their friendship and witty repertoire saw them become a hit with viewers.
After her success on Strictly Come Dancing in 2014, Simon Cowell asked Caroline to host The X Factor alongside Olly in 2015.
They only hosted for one series – Olly was only signed for a one-year contract – but later admitted that they hadn’t seen each other “in a while”.
