COPS are hunting a man with a lion tattoo who tried to kidnap an 11-year-old girl in broad daylight.
The girl was playing with another child in a field in Chesham, Bucks when the man, who had a tattoo of a lion on his arm, tried to snatch her around 1pm last Saturday.
When the other child walked away the man picked her up her pal and carried her around 20 feet.
But he put her down and fled led into a wooded area when the other child returned.
The suspect is described as a white man aged around 40 years old, 5ft 7in and average build.
He was dressed in a coat, believed to be blue or black, a brown tee-shirt and was carrying a rucksack, a Thames Valley Police spokesman added.
The man also had a distinctive tattoo on his arm of a lion and was drinking from a green bottle, detectives said.
MANHUNT LAUNCHED
Police were combing the area near the scene of the attempted abduction at The Bury, near Pednor Road to try to track down the man.
They appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
Detective Constable Chris Gould said the attempted kidnapping was “a frightening experience for a young child.”
He said: “Thankfully, both children were completely unharmed during this incident but we are appealing for witnesses in order to fully establish the circumstances.
