The Texas Land Commissioner was first elected to his position in 2014 and reelected in 2018 with Trump’s support.
Before entering politics, he served in Afghanistan as a US Naval Reserve officer, worked as a public school teacher, and ran a real-estate private equity firm.

When did he endorse Trump?
Jeb Bush’s oldest son first endorsed Trump during the 2016 presidential election.
He urged Texas Republican activists to unite behind Trump in order to defeat Hillary Clinton, although he did note his father’s unsuccessful campaign was a “bitter pill to swallow.”
“From Team Bush, it’s a bitter pill to swallow but you know what? You get back up and you help the man that won, and you make sure that we stop Hillary Clinton,” Bush said, according to video obtained by CNN.
Their cordial relationship prompted Trump to bring Bush on stage at an April 2019 rally and introduce his former rival’s son as “the only Bush who got it right.”
On Tuesday, Bush told the Dallas Morning News Trump is “the only thing standing between America and socialism,” and confirmed he’ll endorse his reelection.
When asked about Trump’s presidency to date, Bush said on Tuesday: “It’s clear, Republican policies are working.”
