Fantasy football Premier League: 6 active players who have ZERO points (or less) so far
Can you hear that? That’s the sound of the Premier League returning… with a hint of artificial crowd noise thrown in, too.
England’s top flight is all set to go again on June 17 — exactly 100 days since the final Premier League match before lockdown — and that means it’s time to get seriously invested in your Dream Team once more…

So to start with, blow off the cobwebs and check out everything you need to know as the Dream Team season resumes.
But first, let’s take a look back at some of this season’s stinkers with six fantasy football players who’ve failed to pick up a single point so far…
1 Jordon Ibe
Much was expected of Ibe when he was coming through the ranks at Liverpool — some even felt he was the natural successor to Raheem Sterling in the side.
But despite moving to Bournemouth in 2016 to increase his game-time, things really haven’t improved for the speedy winger and this campaign has probably been his worst one so far.
Just two appearances in the Premier League — both as a substitute — along with a handful of showings in the Carabao Cup have been about as good as it gets, and we doubt anyone is too interested in picking him for their Dream Team right now.
2 Danny Drinkwater
The good times have certainly dried up for Drinkwater in the last few years.
A Premier League winner with Leicester and an England international — and once a Dream Team favourite while he was with the Foxes — Danny’s currently boasting -1 point this season so far.
The midfielder spent the first-half of the campaign on loan with Burnley but scarcely made an appearance through injury, personal reasons and a lack of form, and things haven’t really improved at Aston Villa, either.
3 Fabian Delph
From one England international and Premier League winning midfielder who’s seen better days, to another…
Like Drinkwater, Delph moved on in the summer — from Man City to Everton — to earn more playing time at a slightly ‘lesser’ side.
And while Delph’s season has been interpreted by injury, he’s still managed to start regularly; having made 16 appearances in the Premier League so far.
Granted, his position and role in the team — as a more combative and defensive-minded midfielder — doesn’t really translate well to fantasy football points, but you’d still expect him to have a better total by this time of year, right?
4 Albian Ajeti
Strikers who can’t score goals rarely flourish on Dream Team — as you can probably imagine.
Ajeti fits that category to a tee, having failed to find the back of the net in any of his appearances for West Ham this term, despite making 11 appearances for the side in all competitions.
Disappointing, to say the least, having joined from Basel in the summer for £8 million.
5 Neil Taylor
We harp on about attacking full-backs a lot here at Dream Team HQ, but sadly Taylor doesn’t quite rub shoulders with the rest.
The Wales international seemed like a decent bargain option at the start of the season; with his Premier League and international experience, coupled with his stylish showings back in the day with Swansea.
But he’s seldom played for Villa this term — making just 10 appearances — while he’s failed to notch a single assist.
He backs that up with a woeful 6.33 WhoScored rating.
6 Takumi Minamino
There was a rather large amount of excitement surrounding Liverpool’s signing of Minamino from RB Salzburg back in January, but it’s fair to say he hasn’t really lived up to it so far.
Added to Dream Team on January 1 and priced at a reasonable £2m, the Japanese forward was seen as an ideal replacement for any of the Reds’ famed attacking trio if one of them picked up an injury.
Before his January move, Minamino notched five goals and six assists in 14 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga, and he was particularly impressive when he played against Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League, where he scored and assisted.
That’s the side of him we’ll be expecting to see when the Premier League returns to action and Jurgen Klopp’s side look to steam-roller their way to the title.
