ICELAND shoppers can now nab a 1lb “Big Daddy” cheeseburger – perfect for meat fans on Father’s Day next week.
The 474g burger is available at the supermarket for just £3.
It combines two of Iceland’s beef patties, which have been seasoned with onion, and just like you’d expect from a cheeseburger, it also comes with a cheese slice in the middle.
The burgers are available to buy on Iceland’s website already, as well as in stores.
We’ve also asked Iceland how long the burgers will be available for, so we’ll update this article once we hear back.
If you’re keeping a close eye on your waistline, you’ll want to know that each ovenbaked burger contains a whopping 966 calories.
An adult man should eat around 2,500 calories a day while it’s 2,000 for a women, according to NHS guidelines.
None of the big four supermarkets are selling cheeseburgers in a similar size, so you’ll need to shop at Iceland to get your hands on one.
But you may save by buying separate burgers elsewhere and combining them.
Asda, for example, is selling a 202g cheeseburger for £1.25, while Tesco is selling a 237g cheeseburger for £2.50.
That’s 59p per 100g for Asda or £1.05 per 100g at Tesco compared to 63p per 100g at Iceland.
As part of Iceland’s meaty Father’s Day range, the supermarket’s also selling a 12oz sirloin steak for £5.
Or you can nab a 16oz rump steak for the same price tag.
David Lennox, head chef at Iceland, said: “Iceland’s Big Daddy range really is an indulgent treat for Father’s Day – it’s a once-a-year opportunity to treat dads and it calls for a seriously big burger or steak to match the occasion.”
