A WOMAN has shared how she made six mini sponge puddings in her slow cooker in mugs.
The home cook revealed that all she needed was four main ingredients to achieve the tasty treats – and many people said they were keen to try it for themselves.
A woman shared how she made six sponge pudding in her slow cooker in mugs[/caption]Taking to the Facebook group Crockpot/Slow Cooker Recipes & Tips, she said: “I DID IT. Using the syrup sponge recipe on here I made 6 mini sponges.
“2 syrup, 2 chocolate and 2 jam. Quite proud of myself.”
In order to make her desserts, she used 6oz self raising flour, 6 oz castor sugar, 6oz butter and three beaten eggs.
She first mixed the ingredients together in a bowl.

Following this, she then spooned the pudding mixture into the mugs and placed them in the slow cooker.
Next, she poured boiling water in the slow cooker, so it reached halfway up the mugs.
The foodie advised you should cook large sponges on high for two to three hours, but smaller sponges can be put on high for 90 minutes.
How to make sponge puddings in the slow cooker
What you need:
- Self raising flour
- 6 oz castor sugar
- 6oz butter
- Three beaten eggs
- Pudding toppings, e.g. syrup or chocolate
Method:
- Mix all the above together
- In a large bowl or 6 small mugs
- Cover the base with preferred topping
- And spoon in your mixture
- Place in slow cooker and fill half way up your bowl (s) with boiling water.
- For large sponge cook on high 2/3 hrs
- For smaller sponges cook on high for 90 mins
- Place a tea towel under the lid whilst cooking
Place a tea towel under the lid while cooking, and you should have some delicious desserts when it is all finished.
