JON JONES has opened-up on how his “humiliating” drunk driving arrest completely changed his life.
The light-heavyweight champion pleaded guilty after he was arrested on March 26 when police reportedly found him drunk at the wheel of his car with the engine still running.
Jones has revealed that his life had hit rock bottom when he was arrested, especially when the cops’ bodycam footage was made public for the world to see.
The 32-year-old told Steve-O on the Wild Ride! show on YouTube: “It embarrassed me, it reality-checked me,
“I’ve never been on camera drunk for the public to see like that. It was humiliating, and somewhat of a bottom for me — and I’m ready to snap it into high gear.
“I do feel good, my last DWI has done a lot for me. It set me free in so many ways.”
The UFC legend has admitted that the arrest forced him to take a U-turn on his life and that he has been on a path to sobriety ever since.
While a lot of people have been drinking more amid the coronavirus lockdown, Jones believes it has in fact helped him to stay on the straight and narrow as nightclubs and bars have been shut.
The American hardman has been able to focus on his family and has been doing charity work to give back to those in need.
Jones has been working with C.A.R.E Project to raise cash for communities in New Mexico that have been hit hard by the killer coronavirus to try and “create a life of more substance”.
The MMA legend recently blasted the “punk ass teenagers” who were rioting and looting amid shocking scenes of unrest in the United States following the death of George Floyd.
He even stepped in to confiscate two spray cans from men with their faces covered in a video he posted to Instagram.
Jones has also been on a mission to clean up the streets and rebuild businesses in America following the protests.
In a video shared to social media, he said: “Alright, it’s time to put in some work. I’ve got a nice little crew of guys, volunteers.”

Before he added: “Now let’s go see if we can find something to clean. If you guys need help with your small businesses, hit us up.”
The UFC contract rebel has been embroiled in a public feud with Dana White after the promoter claimed Jones wanted £24million to move up to heavyweight to face Francis Ngannou.
And Jones revealed he has “no interest” in fighting again until his pay dispute with the UFC is resolved.
