As they watched Andrea Tate being found alive and well in a hotel lobby, one wrote: “This is weird. We’ve had weeks of lockdown episodes but now they’re in the cafe and now hotels ? #Emmerdale”
Another added: “They acknowledge lockdown now no social distancing or anything ??? What’s going on ffs #Emmerdale”.
And: “I’m a bit confused with the #Emmerdale set up… is this not following on from the “lockdown episodes””.
One fan simply asked: “How come the cafe’s open?” as characters came in and out of the local food spot.
“Everyone’s been in lockdown in #Emmerdale for the past month or so and now they’re back to footage filmed beforehand. I don’t get how it’s meant to work,” said one surprised watcher.
While others tried to explained what exactly was going on and wrote: “Viewers, they said at the start that this is filmed pre lockdown, stop complaining #emmerdale”.
“They said some scenes,” clarified another.

Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley recently gave fans a rare look behind the scenes on the soap – showing the homes all lined up in a vast studio.
The Mandy Dingle star, 43, revealed some of the new measures in place on the set in Leeds, including a lady who enforces social distancing with a giant stick.
She explained how the temperatures of the actors and crew are being taken on the way into the ITV base – and the whole building converted into a one-way system.
Lisa said: “We are now in charge of our own hair and make-up and of course our wardrobe is laid out for us in our room, fully sanitised, in the order we’re going to shoot that day.”
