York Races: Tips, racecards and betting preview for the Summer Fillies’ Stakes meeting on Sunday live on ITV
THE stage is set for a cracking card at York on Sunday afternoon.
The ITV cameras are in town, and our man Jack Keene has taken a close look and picked out his best bets.
1.55 William Hill King Charles II Stakes (Listed)
VENTURA REBEL has plenty of strong Group form to his name and can take advantage of this drop in class.
He was a cracking third in the Commonwealth Cup last month and this step up to 7f looks certain to suit.
The unbeaten Boccaccio continued on his upward curve with a gutsy win at Newmarket. This demands another step forwards but he looks the big threat.
Royal Commando wasn’t a million miles behind the selection at Royal Ascot and isn’t discounted.
SELECTION: Ventura Rebel
DANGER: Boccaccio
2.30 William Hill Extra Places Every Day Handicap
They should go a good gallop here and that could tee things up for ARECIBO.
He endured a torrid trip at Ascot last time out, but he is well worth another chance in a race which could favour those held up.
Makanah and Copper Knight fought out a ding-dong finish at Newmarket last month, with the former narrowly prevailing.
They look sure to play a part again, while the classy Danzeno is worth each-way consideration with his comeback run under his belt.
SELECTION: Arecibo
EACH-WAY: Danzeno

3.05 William Hill Summer Fillies’ Stakes (Group 3)
A fiercely competitive Group 3 in which several fillies have an excellent chance.
They include last year’s winner Royal Intervention, who beat Shades Of Blue by a neck in a good finish 12 months ago.
The former looked like she needed her comeback run and should be sharper now, while the latter will be much happier in this grade having run in the King’s Stand last time.
Similar comments apply to Diamond Jubilee ninth Breathtaking Look, but narrow preference is for JOVIAL.
The beautifully-bred daughter of Dubawi’s winning run came to an end when she was collared close home over 7f last time, but she can bounce back over this trip.
SELECTION: Jovial
DANGER: Royal Intervention
