Mafia Power cantered to a big-field win at Haydock earlier this month and can’t be ruled out despite shooting 11lb up the weights. He should be suited by stepping up to this longer distance.
Berkshire Savvy didn’t look the easiest of rides at Windsor last time but got his head down to win. Goodwood can suit these quirky types and he’s open to improvement for Andrew Balding and the champion jockey.
Summit Reach looked in need of his turf debut when third at Ascot latest and has had a little help from the handicapper. He’s capable of better.
Celestran was well backed before finishing a place ahead of him at the Queen’s track. He looked in need of stronger handling there and Frankie Dettori is a bonus taking over in the saddle.
ONE MASTER has a fantastic record over this seven-furlong trip as her two wins in the Group 1 Prix Foret at Longchamp show.
She takes a fair drop in class here after another good effort to be beaten less than a length in the Falmouth Stakes over a mile at Newmarket.
She had to come from a long way back and didn’t get the clearest of runs in the closing stages. All her top wins have been at this distance and she should be too good for them.
Althiqa looks a big threat after a battling Listed success at Deauville earlier this month. She has improved since moving up to this trip and is open to lots of improvement after just four outings.
Valeria Messalina is respected coming from Jessica Harrington with Frankie Dettori in the saddle. She had plenty in hand when winning a Cork Group 3 after not getting home in the Irish Guineas over a mile. More progress is expected.
Wasmya has some decent European form in the book and wasn’t disgraced at Royal Ascot. She likes this trip too.
Breathtaking Look was beaten in a tight finish for the Group 2 Summer Stakes at York 12 days ago. That was a sprint but she won the last time she tackled this extra furlong and has place claims.
KHALOOSY could not have been any more impressive when winning the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot by almost five lengths.
Considering it was just his third run and he still looked pretty green after seven months off, he should be able to take this step up to Group 3 level very much in his stride. The mile is ideal and there should be plenty of improvement to come.
Tilsit had just the 19 lengths in hand when winning an egg-and-spoon race at Newcastle last time. Whatever the standard of the opposition, that was an impressive effort and he clocked a good time. This is much tougher but he’s clearly talented.
Similar comments apply to My Oberon who was given a pretty simple task at York on just his second run. He quickened up nicely to put six lengths between him and the second. He’s another expected to take a big step forward for William Haggas.
Mystery Power ran his best race for a while when second in Listed company at Newmarket. He enjoyed stepping up to this mile but has a bit to find with the tip.
Repartee won well at Windsor on comeback over six furlongs but didn’t fire at Newbury after that. Moving up to a mile needs to work wonders.
MONTATHAM can give Jim Crowley another Glorious winner in the famous blue silks of Sheikh Hamdan. He was on board at Sandown last time when he got the better of the classy Dark Vision who just beat him in the Royal Hunt Cup on their previous meeting.
He’s creeping up the weights but just keeps improving over this distance and will enjoy the guaranteed pace we’ll get today.
Prompting sneaks in at the bottom of the weights after an impressive success in a big-field handicap at York. Those races aren’t easy to win but he had plenty in hand. That was over seven furlongs and he’ll be a big danger if repeating it over this mile.
Willie John hasn’t had much racing lately but his best effort came here last season when he relished the track. He looked rusty in the Royal Hunt Cup and will finish a lot closer today.
Sir Busker is in cracking nick and followed his Silver Hunt Cup win with a close second in the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket. He ran about a bit late on which proved costly and could happen again on this tricky track. Despite that his form is good enough for at least a place.

BATTAASH can confirm his place as the top sprinter in the country by taking the Qatar Stakes.
He put up a blistering display when hammering his rivals in the King’s Stand at Royal Ascot and this is a drop in grade from that. He’s won this for the past three seasons so there are no worries about handling the track.
Most of his main rivals have already been put in their place but Liberty Beach showed lots of pace when third in the King’s Stand and was a close second at Sandown earlier this month. Her weight allowance should see her in the money again at a track where she’s won before.
Glass Slippers won the top-class L’Abbaye at Longchamp last season ahead of Battaash and didn’t have the best of draws when fifth behind him at the Royal meeting. He was coming back from eight months off there too so should be sharper today.
Ken Colt is interesting coming across from France. He was an easy Listed winner at Chantilly last time but would probably need some rain to bring out his best.
Dubai Station is a Group 3 winner but prefers an extra furlong while Al Raya came up short at Listed level latest and Ornate has been struggling in handicaps.
COMMUNIQUE is a typical hardcase from the Mark Johnston yard who has come right back to his best form this month.
He was second in the Group 2 Tattersalls Stakes at Newmarket before going close again at York last time. He won on his only visit to Goodwood so the track suits and he could be hard to pass under William Buick.
Desert Encounter isn’t in the best of form but it was the same before he won this race well 12 months ago. He went on to land the Group 1 Canadian International at Woodbine so it was no fluke. He was a fair third at Newmarket’s July meeting and can go well.
Alounak was behind him at HQ after an excellent second in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot. He ran as if something wasn’t quite right there and is capable of better than that.
Pablo Escobarr can’t be dismissed after a good effort in Listed company at Newbury 12 days ago. He has winning form at the track which is a major plus. Stepping up to this longer trip should help too.
JULIE JOHNSTON toughed it out when winning at York last time, showing good fighting spirit when the challengers came. She carries a 6lb penalty for that success, which came over today’s trip. She looks capable of improving and Silvestre De Silva can get her out in front again.
Zamaani is a big threat after a comfortable novice success at Windsor 18 days ago. He travelled strongly and didn’t have to be extended. His opening mark is a bit stiff as a result of that but there’s scope for more.
Perotti only had two rivals to beat when winning here last month but he got the job done well and handled the track. It was just his second start so there should be improvement.
Thank You Next rallied to win by a nose at Kempton after making a good start at Windsor. She could leave that form behind in this higher grade for Richard Hannon.
SARSAPARILLA has been knocking on the door and went close in a hot maiden at Newbury 13 days ago. Despite that being her fourth run, she still looked green and went markedly right coming out of the gates.
She then wandered around the track in another sign of inexperience. John Gosden’s filly should have learned from that and James Doyle can keep her in a straight line.
Enoughisgoodenough was an expensive buy and should relish this trip on debut for Richard Hannon. A market move will tell us plenty.
Ventura Diamond showed lots of promise when fourth at Sandown last week. That was a good effort on debut and she came home with a real rattle. It was a good maiden and she should take a big step forward.
