It came after Denise appeared on This Morning hitting out at ‘scaremongering’ about the coronavirus, suggesting the dangers had been exaggerated.
She also crowbarred in a dig at the Good Morning Britain host, saying: “I’m a T-list celebrity according to megastar Piers Morgan.”
Moments after her interview aired, Piers savaged his 62-year-old ITV stablemate on Twitter.
He wrote: “Dumb, deluded & dangerous Covid-deniers like Denise Welch need to stop being given airtime.

“Her idiotic, ill-informed ramblings – from a woman who never stops telling us that she suffers from mental illness – will cost lives by persuading people to think the virus isn’t a threat.”
Speaking about the coronavirus crisis today, Denise insisted: “I’m not saying this is over. I’m not saying how horrendous this virus is and was.
“But at the moment we have a one in 2million chance of dying of Covid and I have a one in three chance of getting cancer. So can the Government please tell us the proper statistics?”
The debate was so noisy at times that some viewers said they would be switching off.

And at one point host Eamonn Holmes told her “just calm down” as he tried to bring in This Morning’s Dr Sara Kayat.
He said: “She’s not extremely right-wing on all of this.”
But Denise cut in, telling him: “But Denise interjected again: “Extremely right-wing? I’m not remotely right-wing, Eamonn.”
