Who is Stella Moris?
Stella Moris is the fiancée of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.
The couple secretly had two children together while Assange was holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy in London.
They have two sons, Gabriel, 3, and 19-month-old Max.
Both children were conceived while Assange was in the embassy seeking asylum to avoid extradition to Sweden where two women had accused him of forcing them to have unprotected sex.
Assange has always denied the accusations and has never been charged.
Moris, 37, is a lawyer and a member of Assange’s legal team.
She was born in South Africa and holds Spanish and Swedish nationality.
Moris has lived in London for almost 20 years.
In an interview with The Times, Moris said: “For Julian, extradition will be a death sentence.
“For the rest of our family it means something not far from it. My children will be fatherless and I will lose the man I love for ever.
“Even now I don’t know whether my children will ever be held in their father’s arms again.”
Speaking about her relationship with Assange, she said: “Julian and I had known each other for many years. We had fallen in love.
“We had a stable, long-term relationship and we wanted to start a family … it was about taking control.
“This was one decision that no one could interfere with. It was very elementary.”
But despite being in love, having an affair while Assange was confined to the embassy which was bugged and had CCTV cameras all over the place was not easy.
To keep things away from prying eyes and ears (although Assange’s bedroom did not have cameras) she told him she was pregnant in a note.

How did Assange propose?
The couple have been planning to marry for some time, initially in the embassy and then Belmarsh, but any plans have been put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.
He proposed when Moris was pregnant with their first child.
She told The Times: “He gave me a VR [virtual reality] headset and told me there was a surprise inside for me.
“I found myself walking through this virtual world. There was a house and then a beach with balloons and stuff.
“And then Julian said ‘look up’ and there was this massive ‘Will you marry me?’ written in the sky.”

Where is Julian Assange now?
The Wikileaks founder is currently in Belmarsh, a maximum-security prison in south-east London.
Ecuador revoked Assange’s asylum in April 2019 and he was arrested by police for violating a bail charge and dragged out of the embassy.
Assange met his youngest son for the first time while being held in Belmarsh.
