Sue Perkins will be travelling in the US and Central America[/caption]What is Sue Perkins: Along The US-Mexico Border about?
Sue Perkins is setting out to explore life along the US-Mexico border in Trump’s America.
She interviews a mix of people living near the infamous “Wall” to see the impact it’s had on society.
The BBC describes the show with: “Sue Perkins travels to Mexico to explore what it is like to live life at border and the impact of ‘The Wall’.
“Sue meets a range of people living on the border of Mexico and the US and explores the different ways in which this has affected and disrupted their lives.”
Sue herself has said: “[This] is a journey through vibrant cities, steeped in culture and tradition, and some of the most spectacular landscapes in the world.”
Sue, with her usual humour, will be invited to explore Mexican culture[/caption]Where does Sue Perkins visit?
Sue visits both sides of the border, asking those on the US-side how it feels to see people through “the wall” in Central America.
The first episode starts in Tijuana, a city in Mexico that’s south of California.
Sue speaks to migrants wanting to cross the border and others including US residents and tourists.
Something that hasn’t been well broadcast before is how many American retirees want to settle in Mexico – usually the opposite is what’s told in mainstream media.
The town of Los Algodones will also be explored, as Sue looks into the cheap medical work tourists come for.
All of Sue’s travels will focus around the 2,000 mile long border.
In the second episode, airing September 8 at 9pm, Sue goes to Juarez in Mexico, which is half of a super-city meeting El Paso, Texas.
