The player, described by the channel as “ice cool”, will appear on tonight’s hour-long quiz from 8.30pm.
It is the first winner on the WWTBAM show since Jeremy Clarkson took over as the host from original quizmaster Chris Tarrant.
A preview clip released by ITV shows him announcing: “You’ve just won a million pounds” and leaping out of his seat as golden tape falls from the ceiling.
Jeremy, 60, has described the episode tonight as “probably the best the show has ever had”.

ONLY six people have ever won Who Wants To Be A Millionaire's £1million prize - and one of those was 'coughing major' Charles Ingram, who never got the cash...

Pat Gibson (2003) Irish brainbox Pat is one of the world’s top quizzers, getting to the £1million question with two lifelines left.
Ingram Wilcox (2006) The civil servant, pictured, was the last person to scoop the prize – until tonight, that is…

He explained: “I’m thrilled and delighted we’ve found someone who seems to know just about everything. I can’t wait for the viewers to see it and I want to watch it back too.
“I was just in awe of this contestant and think they are probably the best the show has ever had in its 22-year history. It was a joy to sit and watch it unfold.”
He also spoke about the moment the winner – whose identity is staying secret until the show airs – bagged the jackpot.
He said: “It felt like we whizzed through the questions. All of a sudden, confetti was falling from the ceiling and I was saying, ‘You’ve just won one million pounds’.

The show has had five jackpot winners – and six if you include Major Charles Ingram, who was denied the prize.
The former Army man was found guilty of swindling the show with the help of his wife Diana and a coughing accomplice, Tecwen Whittock.
Charles, now 57, was convicted on a single count of “procuring the execution of a valuable security by deception”.
