LET’S be honest – this year hasn’t exactly turned out the way we hoped.
But while there’s no denying that 2020 has been defined by the coronavirus crisis , it was also the year that Lindt finally made our dreams a reality by launching their very own chocolate sharing tin.
That said, not everyone is so adamant that this is the news we needed to salvage 2020.
Posting on the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, one disgruntled shopper slammed the “pathetic” amount of chocolates in the sharing tin.
Sharing a photo of the 32 chocolates in the tin, she wrote: “For all those who were brimming with excitement at the new Lindt chocolate tins, THIS is the pathetic and disgusting amount of chocolates actually in them.
“Bought this today from Tesco, opened with pure delight and then sat back in complete disbelief.”
Although the woman claimed Lindt are “charging the amount of chocolates that would fill one of their boxes”, the £10 sharing tin actually contains double that… even if does looks a bit empty.
Where a standard £4 200g box contains 16 chocolates, the £10 tin has 32 inside in varying flavours.
One user replied: “It’s a 400g tin. The boxes are 16 balls for 200g at £4 so this is 32 balls for £8 and £2 for the tin. Doesn’t seem too bad to me.”
Another added: “Better value buying 3 for £10 of the normal boxes!”
However, others were quick to poke fun at the post – and joked that the Lindt sharing tin was like “if 2020 was a tin of chocolates”.
“Shocking,” a third joked. “Brexit, Covid and now Lindorgate. Honestly I’m absolutely livid. How dare they. Kids are crying now.”
