M&S slaps buying limit on bottles of popular festive Christmas snow globe gin

0

THIS isn’t just any gin, it’s M&S’ sparkly snow globe Christmas gin.

And it’s so popular that the posh supermarket has slapped a limit on how many bottles shoppers can buy.

M&S’s snow globe gin bottles double up as festive decorations

The festive drink has already sold out online and is only available in M&S stores.

But it’s in such demand for Christmas that some customers have been told they can only buy two bottles at a time.

Several shoppers on Twitter and a Marks & Spencer fan Facebook group have said their local stores have placed a limit on the gin.

One customer said there should be a limit in place and another replied “that’s the rule” while another said “people only limited to two bottles”.

An angry shopper on Twitter asked M&S: “Why is there a limit on the snow globe gin at Coventry but not anywhere else?”

We’ve asked M&S to confirm this and whether it’s nationwide and will update this story when we hear back.

The gin liqueur comes in an Instagram-worthy light up bottle and has flecks of sparkly gold, a combination that’s proven a huge hit.

Shopper have been left desperately trying to get hold of the festive spirit which comes in clementine and rhubarb flavour, with stock selling out fast.

One annoyed shopper complained to M&S on social media they had spent more in petrol trying to track down the tipple than the cost of the gin itself, which is priced at £18.

Another said they have gone to their local store seven times and it was sold out every time.

M&S has been telling customers that it is getting more stock in stores over coming weeks in frequent deliveries and to look out for more.

Some lucky shoppers who have managed to nab a bottle are taking advantage of the huge demand by selling it on – at a higher price.

One website is selling the snow globe gin for £100.

Some people are even trying to flog EMPTY bottles, asking for as much as £49.99 – nearly three times the price of a full bottle.

Several bids have been made on empty bottles at lower prices, ranging from £2.89 to £16.

If you’re a fan of espresso martini then Lidl is selling pre-made bottles for a tenner.

One shopper has spotted a “glitch” on the Argos app that lets customers add the sold out PlayStation 5 to their basket, ready for when they’re back in stock.

John Lewis fans were left gutted after the heart-shaped umbrella in its new Christmas 2020 advert sold out an hour after it was released.
