How to perfectly wrap ANY Christmas present no matter the shape – and the clever trick takes no time at all
THERE are two types of gift wrappers – those who take the time to get it right with perfect lines and edges, and those who chuck on mismatched paper and tape in a poor attempt to conceal what’s hidden inside.
We admit it, some Christmas presents are definitely harder to wrap than others, but an Australian mum has demonstrated how to get around the tricky items so that each and every one looks perfect – no matter the shape or size.
Known as Mama Mila on TikTok, the woman named Chantel shared a couple of clips on the platform demonstrating a super easy way to wrap your gifts like a pro – and has left million of viewers in awe.
Clothes, stuffed toys and candles were among the tricky items Chantel wrapped, with each so perfect they look to be sent straight from the North Pole.
Among the easiest to wrap is by far a standard rectangle or square box, like the iPhone Chantel wrapped in her video.
But rather than playing it safe, the Aussie mum from Melbourne showed how to add a pretty detail, which she then used to decorate with a flower.
For square or rectangle items with a difference, the Aussie mum used brown paper rather than traditional Christmas wrapping paper as it looks super stylish.
Then, she said to measure the paper so that it covers the top of the gift, halfway up the bottom and across the sides.
She demonstrates pushing each of the sides inwards to create two triangles, before folding one triangle across the top of the item.
Finally, she folds the excess paper in the same way she did the first triangle and secures the base, before adding a flower or decorative item.
“The whole thing takes just two minutes but looks really impressive,” Chantel said.
More than 12 million who saw the mum’s clip said they couldn’t wait to try it for themselves at home, agreeing it looked super impressive.
One woman said: “I’m saving this video straight away so I don’t wrap my presents like a garbage bag.”
Clothes and soft toys appear to be a little trickier, and often end up looking like a scrunched up lump of paper.
But Chantel said it is possible to wrap them beautifully as well, and it takes less than five minutes.
Showing how to wrap a stuffed Mickey Mouse toy, the trick is to start the process BEFORE you pop the toy inside.
“Fold your wrapping paper into a trifold and tape it,” she posted.
Then, all you have to do is fold the bottom upwards, create a diamond and fold the bottom and top inwards, before taping it together.
This creates something that resembles a bag allowing you to simply pop the toy inside and seal it up.
Add a ribbon, which is completely optional, and you’re good to go.
Fans were quick to comment on the present-wrapping method, saying it looked so “pretty” and “professional”.
Chantel also showed how to wrap a t-shirt in a similar way, and how to wrap a present if you’ve run out of tape – and yes, there is a way.
